What is a golf pro?

A Golf Pro, or golf professional, is an expert in the game of golf who is typically employed at golf courses or clubs. They provide instruction to players of all skill levels, manage golf operations, and often oversee pro shops and tournaments. Golf Pros may also give private lessons, organize events, and help maintain golf course standards. Many are certified by professional organizations such as the PGA (Professional Golfers' Association). Their role is to promote the game and help golfers improve their skills.
