An Endo RN, or Endoscopy Registered Nurse, is a specialized nurse who assists with endoscopic procedures, such as colonoscopies and upper GI endoscopies. These nurses work alongside gastroenterologists and other healthcare professionals to provide patient care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures. Their responsibilities include patient assessment, administering sedation, monitoring vital signs, assisting with equipment, and providing post-procedure care and education. Endo RNs must have strong critical thinking skills and be knowledgeable about gastrointestinal diseases and related procedures.
