What does an EDI engineer do?

An EDI engineer designs, implements, and maintains electronic data interchange (EDI) systems that enable the secure transfer of business documents between organizations. They troubleshoot data exchange issues, develop mapping specifications, and work with EDI standards like ANSI X12 or EDIFACT using tools such as scripting languages and EDI software.
