What is ECFVG?

The Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) is a certification program administered by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) for veterinarians who graduated from non-accredited veterinary schools outside the United States and Canada. The ECfVG program assesses whether these graduates have the knowledge and skills equivalent to those of graduates from accredited schools. Successfully completing the ECFVG certification is often required for foreign-trained veterinarians to become licensed and practice veterinary medicine in the U.S.
