What is a Dou RN?

Dou RNs, or Dual Registered Nurses, are licensed nurses who hold credentials in two nursing specialties or areas. For example, a Dou RN might be both a Registered Nurse (RN) and a Doula, providing both clinical care and emotional support during childbirth. They are uniquely qualified to offer holistic care, combining medical expertise with advocacy and comfort measures. Dou RNs play a valuable role in maternity wards, labor and delivery units, and birthing centers.
