Do track and field coaches work year round?

At the high school level, coaches are often hired from the pool of existing teachers, and are expected to coach on top of their teaching duties. This allows them to work throughout the school year. They may also work during the offseason to improve their coaching or start training and practice early. Coaches may also work during the offseason as coaches for other teams, depending on their strengths. At the college level, coaches often work year-round recruiting, training, and overseeing scholarships and academic eligibility requirements.
