What is a coffee tree?

Coffee trees are tropical evergreen plants that produce coffee beans, which are the seeds found inside the fruit known as coffee cherries. The two most common species grown for coffee production are Coffea arabica and Coffea canephora (commonly called Robusta). These trees thrive in warm climates with rich soil and adequate rainfall, typically in regions known as the 'coffee belt.' Coffee trees can grow up to 10 meters tall in the wild but are usually pruned to about 2-3 meters for easier harvesting. The quality and flavor of coffee beans depend on the tree species, growing conditions, and post-harvest processing.
