What is a Class B Owner Operator?

Career: Class B Owner Operator

Class B Owner Operators are commercial drivers who own and operate their own vehicles classified as Class B, such as straight trucks, dump trucks, or delivery trucks. They usually haul freight or provide transportation services for clients using their own equipment, rather than working directly for a trucking company. This position allows for more independence, but also comes with the responsibilities of maintaining the vehicle, securing loads, managing business expenses, and finding contracts or loads to haul. Class B Owner Operators typically need a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements and a good driving record.
