What is a CDL Class B driver?

CDL Class B Drivers are professional drivers who hold a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Class B designation. This license allows them to operate single vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, or a vehicle towing another vehicle not in excess of 10,000 pounds GVWR. Common examples include delivery trucks, dump trucks, school buses, and transit buses. CDL Class B Drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient transport of goods or passengers and must adhere to federal and state driving regulations. They often need to pass written and road tests, as well as periodic medical examinations.
