What is an ASCLD Lab?

ASCLD Lab stands for the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors Laboratory Accreditation Board. It was an organization that provided accreditation to forensic laboratories, ensuring they met high standards in quality, reliability, and professionalism. Accreditation by ASCLD Lab indicated that a forensic lab adhered to rigorous guidelines in testing, procedures, and management. In 2016, ASCLD Lab merged with ANAB (ANSI National Accreditation Board), but the term is still often used to refer to labs accredited under these standards.
