Are SLPAs in demand?

Career: SLPA

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), job prospects for SLPAs, or speech-language pathologists, look very good. The BLS predicts speech-language pathology careers to increase by about 26,000 jobs by 2026. That amounts to 18 percent job growth, which is double the national average of seven to nine percent growth for all jobs nationwide. Many speech-language pathologists work with SLPAs, so this job growth more than likely also applies to SLPA jobs. Becoming an SLPA may take as little two years, depending on the educational path you choose, so entering the field takes relatively little time compared to other health jobs.
