Job Description:

The Operations Project Manager will be responsible for managing capacity improvement and transition projects across multiple L3Harris sites within the Missile Solutions Segment.  Performance to cost and schedule targets through collaboration across multiple functions is key in support of the business goals and objectives.  This role focuses on establishing program frameworks, mobilizing resources, and managing knowledge transfer during start-up activities and site/process transfers. Essential Functions:

  • Oversight of capacity improvement projects across functions and sites.
  • Ability to create and execute to project schedules and budgets.
  • Manage transfer projects including knowledge transfer, process handovers, and transition planning between sites, teams, or operational phases.
  • Establish program baselines, success criteria, and transition/exit criteria during initiation phases.
  • Report to senior leadership on business performance including action plans to improve business execution and status of strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and validate needed capital investment to support business need (including quality process capacity, capabilities, & technologies)
  • Facilitate cross-functional team formation
  • Requires up to 10% business travel within the continental U.S.
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • 3+ years' experience with Program/Project Management, including program initiation, start-up phases, and/or transfer management.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Advanced business knowledge, general management and leadership capability to lead business area or functional teams.
  • Broad experience across multiple related professional disciplines within the organization, combining theory, past practical experience and the organization's business practices.
  • Earned value or cost account manager experience.
  • Experience establishing program governance structures, communication plans, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Experience with Capital Management and/or Budget Management during planning phases.
  • A solid understanding of lean manufacturing, facilities project management, business practices, and experience working directly with hardware in the aerospace industry is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing implementation, facilities project start-up, and experience working directly with hardware in the aerospace industry is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience with EAR and ITAR.
