The Opportunity

These roles (2) will be responsible for driving strategic partnerships and distribution growth across two key product areas: Automotive and Insurance. The positions focus on identifying, structuring, and executing external partnerships that expand reach, enhance member value, and integrate offerings into broader third‑party ecosystems.
On the Automotive side, these roles will build relationships within the Auto OEM and broader automotive ecosystem to deliver differentiated, non‑insurance automotive offerings. This includes partnering with manufacturers, marketplaces, and automotive service providers to enable member discounts, warranties, and ancillary products that enhance the end‑to‑end automotive experience.
On the Insurance side, these roles will lead insurance distribution partnerships across personal and commercial lines, emphasizing channel strategy and external enablement rather than direct product ownership. Responsibilities include developing partnerships that extend access to insurance products through third‑party platforms, serving as market experts, and strengthening distribution through scalable, partner‑led models.

Pipeline & Opportunity Development

  • Build and maintain a robust partnership pipeline

  • Work directly with management to formulate and take action on strategic vision as it relates to partner development.

  • Map new partnership opportunities across program value chains.

Partner Contracting & Negotiation

  • Working alongside Global Sourcing and Procurement, legal, program/product owners and all stakeholders to develop contract structuring, negotiate, and execute agreements with strategic partners.

  • Ensure partnership agreements support compliance, value creation, distribution scalability, long‑term sustainability and member value.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Insights

  • Work closely with all stakeholders to align partnerships with program strategy.

  • Deliver insights, research findings, and opportunity assessments to senior leadership, aligning with USAA practices for informing strategy through compelling presentations.


Success in these roles requires strong partnership development skills, comfort operating externally in the market, and the ability to balance strategic vision with execution across multiple product lines.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Chesapeake, VA, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as a resource to team members on escalated issues of an unusual nature.

  • Identify opportunities and potential solutions to increase sales, revenue, profit and market share.

  • Deepen existing networks to cultivate relationships and increase referral business for multiple USAA product lines to improve effectiveness and financial growth for USAA.

  • Implement processes that ensure business efficiency while driving acquisition goals for USAA.

  • Represent USAA and has one-on-one discussions with members to better understand their needs and concerns.

  • Initiate prudent on the spot resolution as necessary by providing concessions that support the overall business and financial growth strategies.

  • Apply advanced knowledge of various USAA product lines; engage and work with cross-functional teams across the enterprise to develop effective strategies that meet and exceed member and business partner objectives.

  • Facilitate seminars and conferences to educate prospect groups on the value and benefits of USAA membership and its product lines.

  • Maximize regional exposure to increase opportunities to provide USAA (or USAAEF) services in communities where USAA (or USAA EF) does not have a physical presence.

  • Influence the strategic activities/directions that lead to increased business development opportunities in their assigned territory.

  • Participate in team and cross functional projects as assigned by the Director. ​

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree: OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • Minimum 6 years’ business development and/or sales experience in the financial services industry.

  • Advanced communication skills with high proficiency in Mobile Technology.

  • Advanced knowledge of specific industry products and business performance metrics, goals and objectives.

  • Experience successfully engaging with potential clients.

  • Experience presenting information to potential customers and making dynamic presentations to large groups from within and outside the company.

  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to simultaneously manage numerous sales campaigns.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate.

  • Previous experience handling sensitive situations and confidential information with discretion.

  • Able to process complex information and quickly identify innovative solutions that meet the needs of potential clients.

  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other desktop applications. ​

What sets you apart:

  • Established network and proven relationship‑management experience with Automotive OEMs

  • Experience developing and negotiating member benefit or vehicle discount programs with OEM partners

  • Strong understanding of automotive industry dynamics, including sales cycles, incentives, and consumer purchasing behavior

  • Deep experience with insurance distribution strategies, particularly for renters and small business insurance

  • Strong product knowledge of renters insurance, small business insurance, and BOP / commercial property and liability coverages

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $93,770.00 - $179,240.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
