Job Description
We are seeking a detail-focused, knowledgeable, and professional Structural Engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Structural or Civil Engineering with prior experience in large-scale projects.
The key focus of this position is to design, build, and oversee building projects, ensuring cost efficiency and smooth running within budget and deadlines.
This role involves interaction with government agencies, engineering firms, and construction companies.
Responsibilities
  • Project management: Oversee the planning and execution of projects, including budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Design, develop, and review technical building and infrastructure plans and drawings for the project.
  • Supervise the on-site team, ensuring the design and build concepts are being followed.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and servicing schedules are set out for the infrastructure.
  • Work with the project team to foresee and avoid, when possible, any obstacles that may present themselves during the construction or planning phases.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Provide project reports to executives.
  • Make suggestions for cost-reducing procedures for the projects.
  • Identify risk elements and determine how to mitigate them.
  • Design: Get involved in creating and reviewing technical plans and drawings for buildings and infrastructure.
  • Construction: Supervise construction teams and ensure projects are built to specifications.
  • Inspection: Verify that work is accurate and meets standards.
  • Coordination: Work with other departments, agencies, and consultants.
  • Problem-solving: Analyze and solve technical and administrative issues.
  • Compliance: Ensure projects comply with laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with the Civil Engineer of Record (EOR) of the project regarding any government agencies and permitting/inspection requirements

Skills and experience
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, including land development, design, and construction
  • Experience managing large construction projects in a similar role
  • Ability to lead and supervise construction activities on site performed by general contractors
  • Experience with traffic engineering
  • Experience with flood control
  • Excellent computer skills, including previous experience with project management software and proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work to agreed deadlines and timescales
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety guidelines
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize time and workload efficiently
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. or Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field with a Professional Engineering (PE) certification is required.
  • Flexibility to change priorities and responsibilities to support business needs.
  • In-depth understanding and practical experience on international building regulations and construction sequence.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with team members and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities are necessary for successfully working under pressure.
