Job description

Overview
The Software Engineer II is a fully contributing engineer who independently delivers well-scoped features and resolves defects across the RealPage Insurance platform. This role is expected to use AI coding agents as a primary implementation tool while retaining full ownership and accountability for code quality, correctness, and security.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain features using C#, .NET, Angular, and SQL Server.
  • Independently deliver user stories and bug fixes, breaking work into steps that can be effectively delegated to coding agents.
  • Direct AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code) to implement features, generate tests, and refactor code, supplying sufficient context - requirements, existing code, and constraints - to get reliable results.
  • Critically review and validate all AI-generated output for correctness, security, performance, and adherence to team standards before merging; catch incorrect assumptions, hallucinated APIs, or missed edge cases.
  • Participate in and contribute to code reviews, including reviews of agent-assisted changes.
  • Diagnose and resolve application and production issues.
  • Contribute to unit and integration testing.
  • Exercise judgment on which tasks are appropriate to delegate to an AI agent versus complete manually.
  • Design, build, and maintain test automation frameworks and suites covering both API and frontend (UI) test coverage; Playwright preferred, Selenium also supported.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines; monitor, triage, and resolve automated test failures across releases.
  • Champion best practices for test design (e.g., page object patterns, API test patterns) and drive down flaky/unreliable tests.

Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with .NET, REST APIs, and SQL Server.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI coding agents productively and independently, including prompt construction, iterative refinement, and rigorous review of generated code.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of using AI coding agents on complex, real-world changes, with strong judgment about their limitations and appropriate use.
  • Experience building test automation solutions for both API and frontend/UI applications.
  • Test automation experience with Playwright or Selenium required; Playwright strongly preferred.
  • Experience with distributed systems and APIs.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
  • RealPage provides a competitive salary package along with a comprehensive benefit plan that includes:
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement savings plan with company match.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • Performance-based bonus based on position. #LI-JK1
