Job description

Overview
The Lead Engineer IV is the team's senior technical and delivery leader. Engineers do not report to this role administratively, but their day-to-day work is orchestrated and directed by it. The Lead Engineer IV remains a hands-on individual contributor while also running the team's Agile process in a Scrum-Master-like capacity - facilitating ceremonies, sequencing work, and removing blockers - and owning the team's technical direction, including how the team adopts and governs AI-assisted, agentic development practices.
Responsibilities
  • Run the team's Agile process end-to-end: facilitate sprint planning, standups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Orchestrate and coordinate the team's day-to-day work - sequencing stories, balancing workload across engineers, and removing blockers - a Scrum-Master-like function performed alongside hands-on technical leadership.
  • Own the team's architecture and technical direction, including how code and workflows are structured to support safe, effective use of coding agents.
  • Set team standards and guardrails for agentic development: prompting conventions, review requirements, and validation expectations for AI-generated code.
  • Lead design and review of the team's most complex features, stepping in personally on high-risk or ambiguous work.
  • Mentor engineers at all levels on both core engineering skills and effective, responsible use of coding agents.
  • Represent the team in stakeholder conversations, surfacing risks, dependencies, and delivery status.
  • Evaluate and introduce new agentic coding tools and workflows for the team, measuring impact on quality and velocity.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Expert-level knowledge of .NET, Angular, and SQL Server.
  • Experience running Agile teams or serving in a Scrum-Master-like capacity - facilitation, sprint planning, unblocking engineers - in addition to hands-on engineering.
  • Strong experience with scalable, distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to orchestrate and prioritize a team's workload and delivery without formal people-management authority.
  • Track record of directing coding agents on complex, ambiguous, or high-stakes work, with sound judgment about risk and oversight.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
  • RealPage provides a competitive salary package along with a comprehensive benefit plan that includes:
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement savings plan with company match.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • Performance-based bonus based on position. #LI-JK1
