Job description

We are seeking a System Validation Engineer - High Voltage to lead verification and validation activities for highvoltage electrical power systems on an electric aircraft. The ideal candidate brings an aerospace or aeronautics background, strong experience with requirementsbased verification, and a proven ability to develop test plans and compliance reports for aviation certification. This role is critical in translating complex system requirements into executable verification artifacts and producing clear, traceable evidence to support certification submittals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, author, execute, and maintain verification plans, test procedures, test cases, and compliance reports for highvoltage electrical systems
  • Translate system and subsystem requirements into clear, testable verification artifacts, including cleanup and refinement of existing verification requirements
  • Define appropriate verification methods (test, analysis, inspection, demonstration), success criteria, configurations, and environmental conditions
  • Perform requirements analysis to ensure testability and maintain bidirectional traceability between requirements, test activities, and verification results
  • Plan and support integration and systemlevel testing of highvoltage systems with other aircraft systems across integration labs, HIL environments, and ground or flight test settings
  • Execute and support verification of highvoltage components and subsystems, including batteries, highvoltage harnesses and cabling, distribution boxes, power electronics, superchargers, and charger components
  • Analyze test data using tools such as MATLAB or Python and document results to substantiate compliance
  • Support certification activities by preparing verification evidence, managing anomalies and deviations, and participating in conformity inspections and test witnessing
  • Collaborate with systems engineering and crossfunctional teams to resolve requirement gaps, integration issues, and verification challenges

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in verification, validation, systems, or test engineering within aerospace or another safetycritical industry
  • Strong experience with aviation test planning, execution, and compliance reporting
  • Handson experience developing verification artifacts for complex, integrated hardware systems
  • Solid understanding of requirementsbased verification, traceability, and certificationdriven development
  • Experience with requirements and lifecycle management tools such as DOORS, Polarion, Jira, or Windchill
  • Experience supporting system integration, HIL, environmental qualification, or ground testing
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as MATLAB, Python, or equivalent
  • Strong technical documentation, communication, and crossfunctional collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with highvoltage and battery standards (e.g., SAE, UL, IEC, DO311, ASTM) is a plus
  • Experience with certification frameworks such as ARP4754A and FAA or EASA programs is a plus
  • Background in electric propulsion, aircraft power systems, or highvoltage electrical architectures is highly desirable

Workstyle Requirements:

  • This role is offered on a remote basis, however regular travel to Burlington, VT is required

Salary Range: $110,000 - $180,000 

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
