Job description

Position Summary

The Data Architect is responsible for designing data infrastructure to extract and organize data. This role identifies the Company’s internal data sources to determine storage needs and optimize utilization of the information to create and maintain data infrastructure for business intelligence needs. This role has minimum necessary access to Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by job description/role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the design and delivery of solutions for longevity and scalability.
  • Integrate data from line of business to data warehouse and present the data using data visualization software.
  • Provide expertise in creating database objects, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, indexes, triggers, agent jobs and scheduling in SQL Server.
  • Create ETL mappings, workflows and worklets using Informatica.
  • Use Informatica software to design and maintain data storage.
  • Develop data definition and process standards across the organization.
  • Create product and project level data artifacts.
  • Lead data management effort, including ownership and maintenance of data dictionaries and data models.
  • Determine the optimal approach for parsing data from various systems and moving it to the data analytics environment.
  • Design, modify, test, and implement data warehouse and all related ETL functions.
  • Develop procedures for meta data management and create data mapping documents.
  • Perform problem assessment, resolution, and documentation in existing ETL, mapping and workflows as assigned.
  • Provide day‑to‑day user support and administration on database access and security.
  • Champion data governance adoption and continued definition and common use of the data dictionary.
  • Support conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling efforts for strategic initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or another business‑related field.
  • Six years of experience designing and delivering enterprise solutions.
  • Mastery of relational and foundational database structure.
  • Eight years of experience working with Microsoft Tools (SSIS, SSRS, and SQL).
  • Three to four years of development background in Informatica ETL systems.
  • Good hands‑on experience with Informatica concepts such as reusable transformations, partition techniques and data modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, data mart, and data warehouse architecture.
  • Experience with at least one reporting/visualization tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Proven ability to learn business processes and concepts.
  • Excellent communications skills in writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Ability to lead through influence and negotiation.
  • Good understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Excellent data management skills.
  • Ability to explain complicated concepts in simple terms.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and respect diversity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • DBA certification.
  • Business knowledge and experience in Health and Welfare Plans Administration systems working in Claims, Eligibility and Pensions.
