Description:

Position Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for managing customer projects from order release through production and delivery, ensuring accurate project setup, ERP management, engineering coordination, and cross-functional communication. This role serves as the central point of coordination between Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with customer requirements. The primary focus of this position is managing project execution through the company's ERP system while supporting Engineering and Operations throughout the project lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

1. ERP & Project Administration

Create and maintain project records within the ERP system.

Review customer orders and project documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Release projects into production in accordance with established procedures.

Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), schedules, and project documentation.

Process engineering changes and maintain accurate project data.


2. Project Coordination

Coordinate projects from order entry through final shipment.

Monitor schedules and identify risks to customer delivery dates.

Communicate project status to internal stakeholders.

Coordinate activities between Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sales, and Quality.

Support production planning to meet customer commitments.


3. Engineering Coordination

Work closely with Engineering to ensure timely design releases.

Coordinate engineering change requests and documentation updates.

Verify engineering documentation before production release.

Support prototype builds and production readiness.

Assist in resolving technical issues affecting project schedules.


4. Customer & Cross-Functional Communication

Serve as the primary internal contact for assigned projects.

Coordinate with Purchasing regarding material availability and lead times.

Communicate schedule changes and project updates.

Participate in project meetings and customer discussions.

Maintain organized project records.


5. Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve ERP workflows and project processes.

Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Assist in developing standardized project management procedures.

Promote teamwork across departments.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or related field preferred.

3+ years of project management or project coordination experience in manufacturing preferred.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems required.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering documentation.

Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.

Experience reading engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) preferred.
