Job description

In the role of Senior Electrical Engineer, we'll count on you to:
  • Lead the Electrical team and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams throughout all phases of data center and other industrial projects to develop and deliver high-quality engineering solutions and project deliverables
  • Establish and maintain client relationships and participate in business development, proposal efforts, design reviews, and production meetings related to electrical systems.
  • Serve as the electrical discipline lead for data center and other mission-critical facility projects
  • Participate in reviews with governing agencies to ensure code compliance
  • Coordinate workload throughout project development to deliver work on schedule
  • Track project financial performance and coordinate team resources to ensure work is completed within agreed-upon budgets and schedules.
  • Work with the Project Manager and Regional Controller to support project reviews with corporate management as needed
  • Direct the activities of electrical engineering professionals and mentor junior staff members
  • Lead the design and coordination of mission-critical electrical infrastructure, including medium-voltage distribution, utility service entrances, standby generation systems, UPS systems, paralleling switchgear, and power monitoring systems
  • Support construction administration activities
  • Perform other duties as required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing electrical systems for data centers and other mission-critical facilities
  • Knowledge of data center redundancy strategies (N, N+1, 2N, and 2N+1), UPS systems, standby generation, and medium-voltage distribution
  • Experience with utility coordination, power system studies, short-circuit analysis, arc flash analysis, and protective device coordination
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering consulting firm
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems);
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems
  • Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
