Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking Business Development Manager to lead the development and execution of opportunities in the new business area of Carbon Products for ExxonMobil. This role combines deep domain expertise, innovation leadership, and operational excellence to develop new business model opportunities and relationships with potential customers.

What you will do
  • Develop and execute business models and growth strategies that drive success across the Carbon-rich Products portfolio. This portfolio spans the carbon value chain, including raw materials such as petroleum coke, needle coke, shot coke, and graphitized petroleum coke, as well as downstream products and applications including carbon black, porous carbon materials, anode production, advanced carbon materials, and carbon fibers.
  • Execute complex agreements from inception to conclusion and advise on complex global issues
  • Design key elements of complex agreements to manage commercial / geopolitical / regulatory and other risks while maximizing value
  • Lead high value / complex / multi-party negotiations with counterparties and Governments as appropriate
  • Lead alignment of internal stakeholders to define corporate external positions to maximize value
  • Create and execute complex external influence plans and internal persuasive narratives to support strategy implementation within specific tasks
  • Develop key external networks and build appropriate relationships to identify value opportunities
About you

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field
  • 10+ years commercial experience in the commercial experience in the carbon value chain 
  • Broad market development capability with leadership experience in developing and / or executing in new business spaces
  • Trained in research competencies
  • Business model design experience, including technology licensing models
  • Global relationship development experience
