What Role You Will You Play on Your Team

Portfolio Project Engineers provide leadership for assigned projects, and ensure successful completion of the assigned project(s). They coordinate with various stakeholders and are expected to leverage the functional expertise of the organization (e.g. cost, schedule & controls engineers, SSHE professionals, etc.) to ensure the projects meet all safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.This role is meant to be a multifaceted role and may from time to time take on 'non-technical' roles as required to support successful completion of the Project. This role involves managing a portfolio of projects simultaneously through different stages.

What You Will Do
  • Engage in execution plans, including contracting/procurement strategies development and implementation
  • Communicates with, coordinates, and directs project, functional, business, operations and other discipline support to ensure timely completion of reviews, resolution of technical queries and required actions
  • Identifies project issues and executes/stewards appropriate actions to resolution, including formal change management
  • Supports the transition between projects stages from pre-Gate 3 to closeout, ensuring compliance with ExxonMobil standards and processes
  • Supports procurement activities, including in some cases materials requisitioning and expediting
  • Responsible for contractor administration activities
  • Responsible for project close-out and turnover to site
  • Accountable for performance of project and alignment with local and global processes (ie. EMCAPS)
  • When projects are in construction, Project Engineers are expected to travel to field sites in the Delaware Basin weekly, for tasks such as (non-exhaustive list): brownfield verification, laser scanning, constructability, construction & procurement support, field progress reviews, site issues management, PSSR's, etc.
  • Typical scopes of work include central vessel batteries, compressor stations, well pad facilities, and water infrastructure
  • Field sites are 20-30 minutes from the Williston office for developments North of the Missouri River, 1-2 hours for developments South of the Missouri River
About You

Skills and Qualifications
 

  • Engineering degree required
  • Demonstrated technical and/or leadership capability  
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills
  • Ability to analyze and discuss complex concepts effectively
  • Ability to work autonomously and contribute to success of a team 

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

  • 5-15 years of experience
  • Oil & Gas experience
  • Leadership experience  
  • Project Management (construction and project engineering)
  • Military experience
