Job description

Job Description:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that medical devices and components meet established quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role supports compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and applicable regulatory requirements through detailed inspection, documentation, and continuous quality improvement efforts. The specialist plays a key role in safeguarding product integrity and patient safety.
This position is 100% onsite in Jackson, Michigan.
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of medical device components and finished goods using visual, mechanical, and functional inspection techniques.
  • Verify product conformance against engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, visual measuring devices) to assess product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain complete inspection records in accordance with quality management systems (QMS).
  • Identify, document, and report nonconformances.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of inspection procedures and quality processes.

Job Requirements:
  • High school minimum.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge retention of FDA Quality System requirements ("Good Manufacturing Practices") and ISO 13485 requirements after training.
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and measurement techniques.
  • Oral communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and get clarification.
  • Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment.
