Job description

Job Summary:
Databricks is a leading data and AI company that empowers data teams to solve complex problems. As a Sr. Engineering Manager for the Notebook Dataplane, you will lead a team responsible for executing user code in a stateful service, driving the technical vision and architecture while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Responsibilities:
• Define and drive the stateful user code execution service vision.
• Partner with serverless platform teams to build the service.
• Own the roadmap and execution, ensuring all team deliverables are met with high quality and on schedule.
• Define team best practices for engineering excellence, including design reviews, code quality, testing strategies, and performance optimizations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the stack.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong track record of technical leadership and impact.
• 5+ years of engineering management experience.
• Experience designing, building, and operating scalable SaaS platforms.
• Expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern web application architectures.
• Strong system-level skills.
• Strong ability to collaborate across product, engineering, and business teams to align technical strategy with company growth objectives.
• Passion for the data intelligence space.
Preferred:
• Experience with containers and K8S is highly desirable.
