Job description

What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a QA Analyst with strong technical skills and solid backend experience within our Corporate Payments division. This position falls under our Corpay Cross Border line of business and is located in Toronto, ON. In this role, you will work closely with Development and PM teams to maintain a top level of quality in software systems. You will report directly to one of our QA Managers and regularly collaborate with teams. This role is mostly in manual testing, with a focus on functional, integration and regression, it also requires exposure to and understanding of Automation frameworks and object-oriented programming.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical thinking and a solid understanding of system architecture, backend implementations, and data flows. They are comfortable analyzing complex workflows, validating data across multiple systems, and assessing the impact of changes across services and integrations.

As a QA Analyst, you will be expected to work in an office environment. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Participating in story refinement sessions to help clarify requirements, identify risks, and propose clear, testable acceptance criteria.
  • Analyzing business requirements and technical implementations to identify impacted areas and ensure appropriate test coverage across components and integrations.
  • Designing and maintaining comprehensive QA test artifacts, including Test Strategies, Test Plans, Test Matrices, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, and Test Results documentation.
  • Ensuring test cases provide full functional, integration, and regression coverage for new features, enhancements, and defect fixes.
  • Executing manual and automated test cases covering functional, UI, API, integration, regression, and UAT testing.
  • Validating end-to-end business workflows across multiple systems and services.
  • Performing backend validation using SQL queries, API responses, and system logs as needed.
  • Maintaining and updating regression test suites based on implemented changes.
  • Investigating issues identified during testing or reported from production.
  • Performing root cause analysis using logs, database queries, and system monitoring tools.
  • Documenting defects clearly in Jira with detailed reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
  • Working closely with developers and support teams to triage, prioritize, and resolve defects.
  • Assisting with installation, configuration, and setup of tools and testing environments.
  • Verifying application deployments and configuration changes across environments.
  • Executing postdeployment validation and smoke testing to confirm system stability.
  • Communicating testing progress, risks, and results to project stakeholders and management.
  • Providing clear test execution reports, defect summaries, and quality metrics.
  • Analyzing logs and system behavior to identify issues, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and test coverage.
  • Collaborating with the team to expand automation coverage and improve testing efficiency.
  • Continuously expanding knowledge of the business domain, applications, and backend systems.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 4+ years of experience in software quality assurance, testing complex applications and integrations.
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum development environments.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test design techniques, and defect management processes.
  • Experience testing complex applications with multiple services, integrations, and data flows.
  • Ability to execute SQL queries to validate data and investigate issues at the database level.
  • Understanding of database concepts, including tables, relationships, and stored procedures.
  • Experience testing REST / SOAP APIs using tools such as Postman or similar tools.
  • Understanding of API request/response structures, authentication mechanisms, and error handling.
  • Ability to analyze application logs and system behavior to troubleshoot issues.
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks and automated testing practices.
  • Experience using test management and issue tracking tools such as TestRail and Jira.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and deployment tools such as Bitbucket, Octopus, or similar platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly document defects, test results, and testing progress.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, product owners, and cross-functional teams.
