Summary:
Assembles and/or modifies electronic components, subassemblies and systems by following specific instructions. Assists in working with other less experienced assemblers.
Responsibilities:
โข Reads and follows assembly prints, work instructions, drawings, procedures and specifications used in the manufacturing of PCBs
โข Identifies by sight workmanship and material defects in touch-up and assembly areas and may be able to suggest basic changes to the work instructions to improve operations in these areas
โข Performs tasks with a high degree of care and attention to details while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
โข Assembles electronic components, assemblies, and modules by working from samples, visual aids, wiring lists and process sheets
โข Maintains accurate material control within the work area
โข Performs inspection of own work in immediate working unit
โข Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations, management and support engineering, as appropriate
โข Follows and maintains accurate process documentation
โข Assemble PCBs of an intermediate complexity
โข May use a variety of tools to perform tasks
โข Serve as a mentor to lesser skilled employees
Other information:
โข High School Diploma or equivalent; 1+ years of experience in hardware and/or simple optics assembly type activities
โข Ability to read, write and perform basic math
โข Ability to use hand tools and associated devices to manufacture PCBs and other electronic assemblies
โข Ability to learn and master all tasks associated with PCB assembly that are assigned
โข Ability to identify electronic components
โข Ability to identify solder non-conformance and correct them
โข Effective communication, both verbal and written
โข Ability to respond to written and verbal instructions
โข Ability to work with and around chemicals used in the PCB manufacturing process
โข Ability to work overtime as needed
โข Ability to obtain and renew certifications on assigned equipment and willingness to cross-train in other areas
โข Participate in a continuous improvement activity

Compensation Range: $17.83 to $19.78 USD plus shift differential. Many factors are considered in compensation decisions, including but not limited to skills, certifications, licensures, experience, training, incumbent data, and other business needs.
