    Job Description:

    The Assistant Manager, Production supports the daily operations of AAON's manufacturing floor, ensuring production goals are met efficiently and safely. This role assists in supervising teams, coordinating schedules, and maintaining quality standards across HVAC product lines. The position requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. It serves as a key link between frontline employees and upper management.

    Primary Duties

    The Assistant Manager, Production plays a critical role in overseeing manufacturing processes and supporting team performance. Responsibilities include:

    Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

    • Assisting in the planning and coordination of production schedules to meet customer demand and inventory targets.
    • Supervising production staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and operational procedures.
    • Monitoring workflow and identifying areas for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
    • Collaborating with engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to resolve production issues.
    • Supporting training and development initiatives for production employees.
    • Ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards.
    • Participating in daily production meetings and reporting key metrics to management.
    • Leading by example to foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

    Job Requirements

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    Requiresa high school diploma or GED. Associate's or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, business management, or a related field is preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in HVAC or related industries.
    • Strong understanding of production planning, workflow optimization, and quality control.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems.
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is a plus.

    Essential Mental and Physical Functions:

    This role requires sustained attention to detail, decision-making under pressure, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, walking across the production floor, and occasional lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.

    Key Functions:

    • Ability to analyze production data and make informed decisions.
    • Physical stamina to navigate a large manufacturing facility.
    • Visual acuity for inspecting products and reading technical documents.
    • Manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment when necessary.

    Work Environment:

    The Assistant Manager, Production works primarily in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility with exposure to mechanical equipment, noise, and occasional temperature fluctuations. PPE is required in designated areas. The role may involve occasional weekend or evening shifts depending on production needs.
