Associate Director, Programmatic

The planning and optimization group is the core of our organization, responsible for applying highly analytical and quantitative approaches to deliver campaign performance, taking financial risk, and assisting the Solutions teams in managing client relationships. P&O Associate Directors are expected to employ and continually define the state-of-the-art techniques in the online marketing industry through their deep understanding of digital technologies, a passion for using data to inform creative problem solving. They must possess excellent active listening skills to understand client needs and translate those needs into campaign objectives.

Responsibilities include:

Performance Management

ยท Own daily operation and master media and buying-related technologies, including DSPs, DMP, 3rd party ad servers and manual exchanges

ยท Actively optimize and manage client campaigns including: strategy development, project management, and optimization log upkeep

ยท Actively leverage and improve established processes, documents, checklists, etc. that ensure efficient procedures and continual improvement for both new and existing clients.

ยท Communicate and liaise with our partners (technology, media, and data) to oversee the launch and ongoing execution of campaigns

ยท Daily review of campaign performance to develop optimization recommendations and implement campaign recommendations, either directly or through partners

ยท Maintain Technical understanding of the agency and 3rd party planning, activation & measurement tools

Programmatic Planning

ยท Partner with solutions teams to work with agency account teams to develop best in class solutions to improve client campaign performance and drive insights

ยท Provide strategic insight to develop long term execution plans from clientโ€™s stated business objectives and implement those plans

ยท Direct Data Sciences team to identify and deliver ad hoc reporting needs as relates to understanding current performance and finding opportunities to deliver better performance for brands

ยท Manage and deliver client level planning and execution goals ยท Lead all media mix logistics, definitions, processes at client-level

ยท Manage 3rd party planning, activation & measurement tools as client needs dictate

ยท Accountable for Salesforce at the account level inclusive of execution of plugs as needed

Organizational Management

ยท Lead and effectively manage a team of programmatic media specialists and facilitate each team memberโ€™s development providing ongoing coaching, feedback and career growth

ยท Train team members and others on media and buying best practices

ยท Participate in broader organizational leadership initiatives (e.g. Operating Team, Task Force) ensuring successful implementation and execution by modeling organizational and leadership capabilities

Required Experience and Education:

ยท Advanced understanding of Ad Trafficking

ยท Advanced understanding of Digital Advertising (Display, Search, Social, Mobile)

ยท Bachelorโ€™s degree in: operations research, mathematics, economics, statistics, physics, engineering, communications, marketing, or advertising. Masterโ€™s degree a plus

ยท Experience working with Microsoft Office products

ยท Advanced Excel/spreadsheet capabilities, macro/VBA experience a plus

ยท 3-6 years of work experience

Required Skills:

ยท Self-starter, capable of setting goals and reporting progress against them

ยท Account management, including demonstrated excellence in managing and prioritizing multiple projects in a client-service business

ยท Data analysis in Excel, including Pivot Tables & basic statistics. Experience with SPSS, SAS, Salesforce, Business Objects or other BI & statistical toolsets a plus.

ยท Strong leadership & communication skills
