Privia Health Psychotherapy Services is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW) to join our innovative team in Bakersfield, California. This is a full-time remote position that offers the unique opportunity to work in an outpatient setting while providing compassionate care to clients facing various mental health challenges. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Privia Health Psychotherapy Services, you will be part of a supportive and flexible remote work environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ mental health status during initial consultations and ongoing sessions to understand their unique challenges and formulate comprehensive therapy plans.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to clients’ needs, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques and frameworks.
  • Meet regularly with clients to monitor their progress and provide consistent support, while equipping them with practical techniques and coping strategies to manage their conditions effectively.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate comprehensive care and refer clients for additional services as needed.
  • Document all patient interactions in accordance with HIPAA regulations, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in our EHR system.
  • Drive the development of group therapy sessions, facilitating discussions that promote community and healing among participants.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research and techniques in mental health counseling, attending training and development opportunities to enhance your skills.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse group of clients dealing with a wide range of mental health issues, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and eating disorders. You will engage with clients from different backgrounds, emphasizing cultural competence and sensitivity in your therapeutic approach. Your ability to understand and respect varied cultural contexts will be essential for fostering trust and effective communication.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid license as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience, with a strong background in working with diverse populations.
  • Extensive knowledge of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment methods, and cultural competence in therapy.
  • Proven experience in delivering individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing inclusive and culturally responsive techniques.
  • Exceptional crisis intervention skills with a calm and composed demeanor in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of building rapport and trust with clients from varied backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard computer applications.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical guidelines, professional boundaries, and patient confidentiality.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in remote counseling settings, demonstrating adaptability and comfort with virtual therapy tools.
  • Familiarity with community resources and support networks for additional client referrals.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
