Job description

Robert Half is looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead core people operations and support a positive, compliant workplace at our client's site in the Greater Philadelphia area. This HR Manager role will oversee key human resources functions across employee relations, onboarding, training, benefits, and policy administration while partnering with leadership to strengthen organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to guide employees and managers through a wide range of HR matters.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day human resources operations, ensuring policies, procedures, and employee programs are applied consistently across the organization.
  • Manage employee relations matters by responding to workplace concerns, advising on disciplinary actions, and supporting separation processes with professionalism and care.
  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities, including candidate screening, background checks, drug testing, and new employee documentation review.
  • Administer onboarding and orientation programs, enter employee information into HR and timekeeping systems, and help new team members transition smoothly into their roles.
  • Monitor timekeeping records and paid time off balances, investigate discrepancies, and work with employees and managers to resolve payroll-related issues accurately.
  • Support compliance efforts by preparing employment documentation, responding to verification requests, completing unemployment-related paperwork, and maintaining required reporting.
  • Assist with compensation and benefits administration, helping employees understand available programs and supporting related HR processes.
  • Facilitate HR-related committees and organizational development efforts that enhance engagement, collaboration, and overall workplace effectiveness.

The ideal HR Manager must have a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. SHRM Certification highly preferred.


Other requirements for the HR Manager role include and are not limited to:

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, recruiting, compliance, and HR operations
  • Experience supporting employee engagement, training, and organizational development
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision making skills.
  • Ability to listen well, comprehend and analyze situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
