Job description

We'relooking for a Senior Software Developer to join our Data Lakes Infrastructure team, reporting to The Director of Software Development.You'llplay a critical role in building and scaling Nasdaq's big data pipeline infrastructure to support business-critical insights. You will design, implement, andoptimizedata lake solutions that power global markets.

You'llthrive in this position ifyou'recollaborative, technically driven, and passionate about working withcutting-edgebig data technologies in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

What You'll Do

  • Develop andoptimizedata pipelines using big data technologies to ensure accuracy, consistency, and performance.

  • Design scalable solutions for extracting, transforming, and loading unstructured data for analysis.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features and resolve technical challenges.

  • Monitor data pipelineinfrastructure,performance,and implement improvements that support scalability.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with data platforms, analytics, or cloud environments.

  • Proficiencywith AWS (including EMR), big data tools, data lakes, and SQL-based databases.

  • Working knowledge ofinfrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform,Pythonand Java with experience in ETL workflows.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage priorities in a collaborative environment.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with cloud security architecture and AWS services.

  • Prior experience supporting production-grade systems in cloud environments.

This position willbe located inSt. John's and Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
