Job description

As a Platform Operations Sr. Analyst reporting to Sr. Director - Platform Operations, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of Nasdaq's trading systems and market operations. You will support real-time 24/7 technical operations, troubleshoot issues across production environments, and partner closely with clients and internal teams to maintain seamless service delivery. This role will support Nasdaq Eqlipse Trading, Nasdaq's next-generation marketplace technology platform designed to help exchanges and market operators run secure, resilient, and high-performance trading environments.

You'll thrive in this position if you're detail-oriented, technically skilled, and passionate about keeping global markets running smoothly in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor production systems in real time, identify emerging issues, and drive resolution to ensure platform uptime and performance.

  • Support daily market operations, including system startup and shutdown procedures, application updates, and recovery processes.

  • Collaborate with clients, network providers, and internal teams to resolve connectivity and technical issues quickly and effectively.

  • Maintain operational documentation and procedures that support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the team.

  • Partner with engineering and development teams to address operational challenges and implement scalable solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in technical or network operations.

  • 3+ years of experience in technical operations, system administration, or a related discipline.

  • Strong proficiency in Linux environments, including administration and troubleshooting.

  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and the ability to diagnose and resolve connectivity-related issues.

  • Clear communicator with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.

  • Experience with AWS or other cloud providers.

  • Familiarity with scripting (Bash, regex) and tools like GitLab, Docker, or Kubernetes.

  • Certifications relevant to systems operations or infrastructure management.

This position will be located in Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
