NASDAQ Jobs Information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Front End Web Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Front End Web Developer, you need strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, typically supported by a relevant degree or coding bootcamp experience. Familiarity with frameworks like React or Angular, version control systems such as Git, and an understanding of responsive design tools are highly valued. Creativity, attention to detail, and effective collaboration skills help developers build engaging and user-friendly interfaces. These skills ensure the delivery of functional, visually appealing, and accessible web applications that meet both user and business needs.

What are some common challenges Front End Web Developers face when working on cross-functional teams?

Front End Web Developers often collaborate closely with designers, back-end developers, and product managers, which can present challenges such as aligning design intentions with technical feasibility and managing differing priorities or timelines. Communication is key to ensuring designs are implemented as intended and that technical constraints are understood by all team members. Additionally, coordinating code integration and maintaining consistency across the user interface can require extra attention, especially in agile or fast-paced environments.

What are front end web developers?

Front end web developers are professionals who design and build the visible parts of websites and web applications—the parts that users interact with directly. They use technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create responsive, user-friendly interfaces, ensuring that web pages look good and function well across different devices and browsers. Their work involves collaborating with designers and back end developers to implement visual elements, optimize performance, and improve the overall user experience.

What is the difference between Front End Web Developer vs Web Designer?

We're looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our team, reporting to the Director - Software Engineering. In this role, you'll help shape how we build innovative, client-facing solutions that power the institutional investing marketplace. You'll be working as a full-stack engineer, utilizing cutting-edge tools and frameworks like Vue.js, Net Core, MS SQL Server, AWS, and Terraform, in an agile scrum process. Your work will enable consultants and investors to make confident decisions worth billions of dollars.

You'll fit right in if you're collaborative, detailoriented, and passionate about technology - someone who enjoys tackling challenges that make an impact globally and who leverages modern AI tools to accelerate delivery.

What you'll do:

  • Design and build scalable, secure, and high-performing software solutions for both front-end and back-end.

  • Write production-ready code using C#, .NET/.NET Core, Vue.js, and relational databases like MSSQL and PostgreSQL.

  • Build and maintain cloud-based microservices on AWS, managing infrastructure with Terraform.

  • Work closely with a global team to enhance development efficiency by automating build, test, and deployment workflows, ensuring rapid and reliable code integration and delivery.

  • Assist in reviewing code quality and troubleshooting issues to ensure reliable, maintainable solutions.

  • Explore and integrate various AI tools to enhance development workflows.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of full-stack software development experience.

  • Strong skills in server-side programming (e.g., C#, Java) and modern front-end JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Vue, Angular, React).

  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, including AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform for provisioning and managing environments.

  • Experience with SQL databases (flexible across major relational systems).

  • Familiarity with common development tools and practices (version control, Visual Studio, Agile).

Nice to Have:

  • AIdriven development: experience with prompt engineering, working with LLMs (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude), and familiarity with agentic workflows and RAGbased search.

  • Knowledge of microservices, containerization (Docker), and DevOps tools (Jenkins).

  • Proficiency with automated testing frameworks (e.g., XUnit, Cypress) and experience validating AI models.
