    Registered Nurse (RN) – Immunization Nurse (Vaccination Initiative)
     

    Location: San Mateo, CA 94401
    Contract Duration: August 19, 2026 – November 14, 2026
    Schedule: Part-Time | 20 Hours/Week
    Work Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
    Shift: 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM
    Setting: Retail Pharmacy / Community Healthcare Clinic
    Position Type: Contract
     

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a compassionate and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to support a community vaccination initiative. The RN will administer a variety of vaccines, provide patient education, and deliver safe, high-quality care in a fast-paced retail healthcare environment. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who enjoy community health, preventive care, and patient interaction.

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided.
     

    Key Responsibilities
    • Administer vaccines including but not limited to:
      • Influenza (Flu)
      • COVID-19
      • MMR
      • Hepatitis A & B
      • Tdap
      • Shingles
      • Pneumococcal
      • HPV
      • RSV
      • Other CDC-recommended immunizations
    • Assess patients prior to vaccination and monitor for adverse reactions.
    • Educate patients regarding vaccines, possible side effects, and post-vaccination care.
    • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and immunization records.
    • Follow infection prevention and medication administration protocols.
    • Collaborate with pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
    • Deliver exceptional patient care with professionalism, empathy, and compassion.
    • Adapt to changing patient volumes and scheduling needs.
    • Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and organizational healthcare regulations.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience, including immunization administration.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Strong medication administration and clinical assessment skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Must not appear on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Previous experience in retail health, ambulatory care, occupational health, public health, or vaccination clinics.
    • Experience administering high-volume immunization programs.
    • Strong customer service and patient education skills.
