    Encode INC is seeking a local contract nurse RN Clinic for a local contract nursing job in Dayton, Ohio.

    Registered Nurse (RN) โ€“ Primary Care / PACT Clinic

    Location: Dayton VA Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio
    Contract Duration: August 1, 2026 โ€“ July 31, 2027 (1-Year Base Contract)
    Extension: Possible 1-Year Option Extension through July 31, 2028
    Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40 Hours/Week)
    Openings: 3 Registered Nurses (RNs)
    Schedule: Monday โ€“ Friday | 8:00 AM โ€“ 4:30 PM
    Shift Pattern: 5 x 8-Hour Shifts
    Overtime: Not Required
    Federal Holiday Coverage: Not Required
    Work Setting: Primary Care Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) Clinics
     

    Position Overview

    The Dayton VA Medical Center is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to support its Primary Care Services Department during the implementation of the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) initiative. The RN will work exclusively within Primary Care/PACT Clinics, providing comprehensive nursing care and coordinating patient services in a multidisciplinary team environment.

    This is an excellent opportunity for nurses with experience in acute care settings such as ICU, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Cardiac Monitoring, or Emergency Department environments who are interested in transitioning their expertise into an outpatient primary care setting.
     

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide comprehensive nursing care within Primary Care/PACT Clinics.
    • Obtain patient health histories, family histories, and perform nursing assessments.
    • Develop, implement, and document individualized nursing care plans.
    • Administer medications and IV therapies as prescribed.
    • Monitor, evaluate, and document patient responses to treatment.
    • Coordinate patient care with Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Advanced Medical Support Assistants.
    • Facilitate specialty referrals, consultations, and follow-up care.
    • Maintain accurate and timely Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation.
    • Communicate significant patient findings and changes in condition to providers.
    • Participate in daily team huddles, patient care meetings, and clinical discussions.
    • Ensure compliance with VA policies, HIPAA regulations, and patient safety standards.
    • Report patient safety incidents according to established VA guidelines.
    • Complete all required training and competency requirements prior to assignment start.
    Required Qualifications Education
    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing approved by a state accrediting agency.
    • Nursing program must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation.
    Licensure
    • Active Ohio Registered Nurse License OR
    • Active Multi-State Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) License.
    Certifications
    • Current BLS Certification (AHA).
    • ACLS Certification (AHA) preferred and may be required for specialty clinic assignments.
    Experience
    • Minimum one (1) year of direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years.
    • Experience in one or more of the following areas preferred:
      • Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
      • Medical-Surgical Nursing
      • Telemetry
      • Cardiac Monitoring
      • Emergency Department (ED)
    • Previous VA experience is highly preferred.
    Required Skills
    • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities.
    • Effective communication and patient education skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
    • Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation.
    • Strong organizational and care coordination skills.
    • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
