Encode INC is seeking a local contract nurse RN Vaccination for a local contract nursing job in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Registered Nurse – Immunization Program
 

Position Type: Full-Time Contract
Assignment Period: August 31, 2026 – November 30, 2026
Location: Fort Wayne, IN 46805
Work Setting: In-Store / Patient-Facing
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 40 hours/week

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to support an in-store vaccination program. The RN will administer a variety of immunizations, including flu, COVID-19, MMR, and other vaccines, while ensuring safe, high-quality patient care.

PPE will be provided.
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely administer vaccines according to established clinical protocols.
  • Perform appropriate patient assessments prior to vaccination.
  • Provide education regarding vaccines, potential reactions, and post-vaccination care.
  • Accurately document immunizations and patient information.
  • Monitor patients following vaccination and respond appropriately to adverse reactions.
  • Demonstrate strong medication administration and clinical skills.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized vaccination area.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Follow infection-control, safety, and clinical guidelines.
  • Adapt to changing patient volumes and operational needs.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative healthcare environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted RN license in the state where the assignment is performed.
  • At least 1 year of related nursing experience, including immunization/vaccination experience.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Strong clinical and medication-administration skills.
  • Ability and willingness to administer multiple types of vaccines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Must be flexible with work hours.
  • Must meet applicable eligibility and exclusion-list requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in immunization clinics, retail healthcare, public health, or community healthcare.
  • Experience administering multiple vaccine types.
  • Strong patient education and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
  • In-person, patient-facing role.
  • Onsite presence required as needed.
  • PPE provided.
  • Fast-paced community healthcare setting.
  • Direct interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
