    Position Overview

    We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) to join the nursing team at W. W. Hastings Hospital. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure exceptional clinical outcomes.
     

    Key Responsibilities
    • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to Medical-Surgical patients.
    • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
    • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
    • Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and respond appropriately to emergencies.
    • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
    • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, case managers, and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care.
    • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning.
    • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and nursing best practices.
    • Participate in patient safety initiatives and quality improvement activities.
    • Provide compassionate care while maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
    • Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred.
    • Current BLS (AHA) certification required.
    • ACLS certification preferred (if required by the facility).
    • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Previous hospital-based Medical-Surgical experience.
    • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
    • Strong teamwork and patient advocacy skills.
