Location: South Florida (Doral / Miami Metro)
Job Type: Full-time, W-2, Non-Exempt (Overtime Eligible)
Travel: Primarily South Florida with up to 25% overnight travel throughout the Southeast as needed.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer with expertise in Mitsubishi Electric 9900 Series UPS systems to support mission-critical power infrastructure across South Florida. This role is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintaining large-scale UPS systems for data center, healthcare, government, and other mission-critical facilities.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated field professional with extensive UPS experience, strong electrical troubleshooting skills, and active Mitsubishi 9900 Series training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Mitsubishi 9900 Series UPS systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues with minimal technical support.
  • Commission and start up new UPS installations.
  • Perform load bank testing and integrated system testing.
  • Execute firmware updates, calibration, battery testing, capacitor replacement, and fan replacement.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and restore equipment to normal operation.
  • Develop and execute Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for maintenance and service activities.
  • Complete accurate field service reports following each service visit.
  • Maintain company tools, diagnostic equipment, PPE, and service vehicle.
  • Support additional UPS platforms as workload permits.
  • Mentor junior engineers on Mitsubishi systems and field best practices.
  • Identify service opportunities, lifecycle upgrades, and preventative maintenance recommendations.
  • Participate in scheduled on-call rotation.
  • Attend ongoing manufacturer training to maintain certifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Mitsubishi Electric 9900 Series UPS Field Certification (9900A, 9900B, 9900D, or 9900AEGIS).
  • Minimum 5 years of UPS field service experience.
  • Minimum 2 years servicing Mitsubishi UPS systems.
  • Experience performing:
    • Preventative Maintenance
    • Corrective Maintenance
    • Emergency Repairs
    • Startup & Commissioning
    • Advanced Troubleshooting
  • Experience servicing UPS systems up to 750 kVA or larger.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • OSHA-10 Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
  • NFPA 70E Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional Mitsubishi certifications on legacy platforms (9800, 9700, 7011, 2033, 1100, SUMMIT).
  • Experience servicing Eaton, Schneider/APC, Vertiv/Liebert, Toshiba, ABB, or GE UPS systems.
  • Military electrical or electronics background.
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience developing Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
  • Experience using Mitsubishi SmartClear or similar OEM diagnostic software.
