We'rehiring aSenior Field Service Engineerwithin ourDiagnostics Divisionfor a fieldbased, remote role supportingthe Los Angeles territory. The incumbent mayresideanywhere within the territory of Metro Detroit, Michigan.

In this role, you will serve as aseniorlevel technical expertsupporting advanced diagnostic instrumentation and complex systems, including laboratory automation. The position requiresstrong,independent problemsolving skills, deep technicalexpertise, and the ability to build trusted relationships with customers in a fastpaced field environment.

As atrusted advisor and escalation resource, the Senior Field Service Engineer ensuresoptimalinstrument performance, regulatory compliance, andhigh levelsof customer satisfaction whilerepresentingthe organization at the highest technical level.

WhatYou'llWork On

  • Install,maintain, repair, and upgrade complex diagnostic instruments and automation systems to ensureoptimalperformance and uptime.

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of hardware, software, and systemlevel issues; independently resolve complex service challenges.

  • Serve as a technical escalation point for critical customer issues and complex service situations.

  • Build andmaintainstrong customer relationships through proactive communication and expert technical guidance.

  • Own and manage the assigned territory, prioritizing service activities to meet customer and business requirements.

  • Ensure all service activitiescomply withAbbott quality systems, regulatory standards, and laboratory safety requirements.

  • Accurately document service activities, resolutions, and compliancerelated records.

  • Collaborate crossfunctionally with Sales, Applications, Technical Support, and Engineering teams to support customer success.

  • Provide technical mentoring and informal guidance to Field Service Engineers and peers as needed.

  • Utilize remote diagnostic tools and digital technologies to maximize instrument uptime and service efficiency.

  • Maintain required certifications and complete ongoing technical training.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experiencerequired.

  • Minimum5 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer.

  • Ability to travel locally up to95%and longdistance up to25%.

  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Medical Technology.

  • Experience supportinglaboratory instrumentation and automationin a clinical or diagnostic environment.

Additional Skills

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problemsolving capability with laboratory instrumentation, including automation.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in teambased service environments.

  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internetbased tools, VPN, and remote troubleshooting systems.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in customerfacing technical environments.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills supporting professional customer and crossfunctional interactions.
