Job description

Job Summary The Elevator Operator is responsible for safely operating grain handling equipment and supporting daily facility operations, including loading and unloading trucks and railcars, transferring and blending grain, maintaining facility cleanliness, and assisting with basic maintenance activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient grain movement, operational safety, and excellent customer service while adhering to company policies, safety programs, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Operate grain handling equipment and systems in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Load and unload trucks and railcars safely and efficiently. Perform grain handling activities, including transferring, blending, filling, and reclaiming ground piles. Monitor grain flow and facility operations to ensure efficient processing and storage. Participate fully in company safety programs and comply with all applicable regulatory requirements. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report maintenance needs, safety concerns, or equipment malfunctions to management. Support facility maintenance activities to ensure equipment remains in safe working condition. Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the facility, including elevators, grounds, buildings, and work areas. Perform housekeeping duties, including sweeping, cleaning floors, and general facility upkeep. Provide excellent customer service through professional, courteous, and helpful interactions. Collaborate with team members to support daily operations and achieve operational goals. Troubleshoot operational issues and make sound decisions to support efficient facility performance. Assist with additional operational duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred. Ability to safely operate equipment and follow company safety procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced industrial environment. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and perform tasks in elevated work areas. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment as required. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in grain handling, agriculture, manufacturing, industrial operations, warehousing, or related environments. Experience operating conveyors, elevators, loaders, or other material handling equipment. Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting experience. Knowledge of grain handling operations and facility maintenance practices. Certifications No certifications required. Forklift certification or other material handling equipment certifications are considered a plus. Safety training or industry-specific certifications are preferred but not required. Education: High School Certification: Forklift certification
