As we enter a focused growth phase, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead strategic expansion within our territory.
Position Overview
The Business Development Manager, reporting to the Executive Director, owns revenue growth within the territory by developing, activating, and expanding high-value healthcare referral partnerships. This role is accountable for generating qualified client referrals that convert into active service agreements and for positioning Qualicare Toronto West as the preferred nurse-managed home care provider within the community.
The Business Development Manager will coordinate and manage business development within defined geographic area and ensure consistent, profitable growth in revenue through assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating local marketing & business opportunities. The Business Development Manager works closely with the Executive Director to ensure smooth referral handoff, proactive follow-up, and optimization of referral-to-client conversion.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Revenue Growth
  • Develop and execute a structured business development strategy aligned with quarterly targets and key performance indicators.
  • Build, prioritize, and actively manage a high-value referral pipeline targeting accounts with strong recurring referral potential
  • Generate qualified leads through strategic outreach and relationship cultivation
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to convert referrals into active clients
  • Monitor territory performance metrics and proactively adjust outreach strategy to maximize referral yield and revenue impact
Professional Referral Development
  • Establish and deepen partnerships with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, retirement residences, primary health care providers, discharge planners, and community agencies
  • Position Qualicare Toronto West as the trusted nurse managed home care provider in the community
  • Conduct high value meetings, presentations, and educational sessions tailored to specific audiences
  • Represent the organization at healthcare networking events and community initiatives
Market Intelligence and Expansion
  • Identify new referral channels and strategic partnership opportunities
  • Monitor local market trends and competitive activity
  • Maintain Qualicare Toronto West social media presence and engage in opportunity for community outreach via different social media communications
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual growth planning
Accountability and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate CRM documentation of all business development activity
  • Provide weekly pipeline and performance reporting
  • Track referral volume, conversion trends, and revenue impact
  • Maintain disciplined follow up with referral partners
Performance and Compensation
  • This is a field based, outcome driven role measured by quarterly revenue growth, increase in qualified referral partnerships, growth in monthly referral volume, and referral to client conversion rate.
  • Compensation includes a base salary plus performance-based bonus tied to achievement of quarterly revenue and referral growth targets.
Qualifications
  • Minimum five years' experience in business development
  • Healthcare, senior services, or community-based experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success in territory growth and revenue expansion
  • Strong consultative skills within professional environments
  • Excellent relationship building and presentation skills
  • Experience managing pipeline through CRM systems
  • Familiarity with social media platforms
  • Valid driver's license ad access to a vehicle
