IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

As a Marketing Specialist focused on strategic partnerships, you'll help bring BECU's brand to life through meaningful community, sports, entertainment, and affinity partnerships. You'll manage a portfolio of partner relationships, develop and execute high-impact integrated marketing activations, and help drive measurable results tied to brand awareness, member acquisition, and product engagement.

Working alongside experienced partnership leaders, you'll help maximize the value of BECU's sponsorship investments by contributing to strategic ideas, identifying optimization opportunities, and creating memorable experiences for members and employees. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship management, project execution, and using data and insights to strengthen partnerships and deliver business results.

This hybrid role is based in the Seattle area and requires an onsite presence one to two days per week, with occasional local travel to support partnership activations, sporting events, community events, and partner meetings.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Manage Partnership Portfolios: You'll oversee a portfolio of affinity and sponsorship partnerships developing annual activation plans, managing execution and ensuring each relationship supports BECU's goals for brand awareness, member acquisition, and product engagement.
  • Build Strong Partner Relationships: You'll serve as a primary point of contact for assigned partners, cultivating trusted relationships, facilitating ongoing communication, and ensuring contractual commitments are successfully delivered.
  • Lead Marketing Activations: You'll develop and execute integrated marketing programs, promotions, events, offers, sweepstakes, and sponsorship activations that create meaningful experiences for members and employees while delivering measurable business results.
  • Support High-Profile Partnerships: You'll support senior leaders on marquee partnerships while independently managing smaller partnership accounts, helping ensure all deliverables are completed on time and with attention to detail.
  • Partner Across Teams: You'll collaborate closely with Marketing, Creative, Communications, Retail, Media, Analytics, Compliance, and Member Marketing teams to successfully develop and deliver partnership campaigns.
  • Guide Projects Through Creative & Compliance Processes: You'll manage deliverables through project workflows, creative development, approvals, and compliance reviews to ensure campaigns are executed efficiently and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Measure and Optimize Performance: You'll monitor partnership and campaign performance using available reporting and business metrics. Identify trends, evaluate results, and recommend optimization opportunities that improve future marketing performance and partnership value.
  • Manage Timelines and Deliverables: You'll coordinate schedules, track project milestones, and ensure activations are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with stakeholder expectations.
  • Contribute Strategic Ideas: You'll look beyond execution by identifying opportunities to improve current partnerships, elevate sponsorship programs, and support renewal recommendations through thoughtful analysis and insight.
  • Support Partnership Operations: You'll help maintain partnership systems, hospitality programs, reporting tools, and operational processes that contribute to the overall success of the sponsorship portfolio.
  • Represent BECU in the Community: You'll attend local events, games, meetings, and activations throughout the Seattle area to strengthen relationships and support partnership execution when needed.

This isn't just about ticking off tasks on a list. It's about making a significant, positive change in BECU's journey, where your contributions are valued, and your growth is continually fostered.

WHAT YOU'LL GAIN:

  • Sports & Entertainment Partnership Experience: Gain exposure to some of the Pacific Northwest's most recognizable sports, entertainment, and community partnerships.
  • Strategic Influence: Bring forward ideas, recommendations, and optimization opportunities that help shape partnership renewals, sponsorship strategies, and future activations.
  • Community Impact: Represent BECU at local events, activations, and community experiences that strengthen relationships and create value for members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or equivalent work or education-related experience.
  • 1 year of marketing experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have experience supporting sports, entertainment, sponsorship, or partnership marketing initiatives.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with sports, entertainment, sponsorship, affinity, or brand partnerships, preferably within a team, agency, brand, or similar environment.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholder needs while working toward business objectives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Monday.com, or similar business and project management tools.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to use data and performance metrics to inform recommendations.
  • Understanding of brand positioning, marketing strategies, and campaign execution.
  • Communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Experience with project management, marketing reporting, or partnership management platforms.
  • Financial services experience is a plus but not required.
