Position Overview: As a Material Handler, you're a member of an assigned production crew, reporting to the Plant Warehouse Supervisor. You will contribute to the success of Ball by observing operating principles of all assigned equipment and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for your area of responsibility. The Saratoga Springs plant is a high-volume, fast-paced 24/7-365 days/year manufacturing environment. Our crews work 12 hour shifts (6pm-6am) working 4 days on/4 days off.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Follow all 5S standards and job safety practices and policies including but not limited to food safety; personal protective equipment; emergency procedures, etc.
  • Operate forklift and coordinate products including raw materials, scrap, finished goods, packaging materials, chemicals, and other supplies.
  • Effectively communicate with vendors, delivery drivers, and customers.
  • Inspect aluminium for proper quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Build positive relationships across designated team by effectively collaborating, communicating, and upholding ethical integrity.

Required Experience & Skills: High School Diploma or education equivalent. 1 year of work experience in an industrial environment.

Preferred Experience & Skills: 3 or more years of operation and maintenance of forklift. Working knowledge of proper hazardous waste management. Experience using JD Edwards, AS900, or similar warehouse or ERP system.

Physical Environment & Working Conditions: May be subject to all of the following, but not limited to: Hot/Cold working conditions. Loud /Noisy environment. Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time. Climbing (stairs, catwalks, and other equipment as necessary).

Onsite Work Environment: This position is based in Saratoga Springs, NY and requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site. Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
