Job description

Job Summary:

The Data Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and organization of engineering and CAD data across internal systems and customer platforms. This role supports engineering, design, and manufacturing teams by managing product data throughout the full product development lifecycle. The position requires close collaboration with engineers, designers, and manufacturing teams to manage CAD files, engineering changes, and product data within systems such as Teamcenter and other PDM platforms. The Data Management Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring data consistency, version control, and compliance with customer and company standards to support efficient product development and manufacturing operations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage CAD data for AGS and customer programs
  • Download and upload CAD files from OEM systems (Teamcenter and similar platforms)
  • Perform UG NX file translations into required CAD formats
  • Send and receive math data to and from tool shops via FTP systems
  • Release engineering data to customer databases, PDM systems, or mailboxes
  • Perform CAD data part overlays and create PowerPoint presentations highlighting design changes
  • Support minor design modifications using UG NX
  • Assist in creating GD&T drawings using UG NX in compliance with ASME Y14.5M
  • Review CAD models to identify potential part interferences
  • Maintain CAD data request records and engineering change documentation
  • Maintain up-to-date GD&T drawings within the AGS engineering database
  • Organize and maintain CAD project directories within engineering data systems

Employment Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent demonstrated proficiency
  • Skilled in the application and understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5M standard)
  • Proficiency in UG NX
  • Experience with GM, Ford, and Stellantis Teamcenter systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes; DFMA knowledge preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
