A clinical review nurse reviews the appeals and grievances filed by providers and members. A remote nurse case manager’s duties include performing initial case evaluations, working as a liaison for everyone involved in a given claim, and managing a caseload. The responsibilities of a triage nurse include initiating contact with clients, securing medical documentation about procedures and treatments, and determining if the client is able to return to work. A utilization review nurse audits a patient’s care and determines if coverage is adequate. They also determine medical necessity regarding medical care.

What Are the Qualifications to Get a Work From Home RN Insurance Job?

The most important qualification for these jobs is a valid registered nursing license in the state in which you work. Most employers accept applicants with an associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing. You must have some clinical experience working as an RN to qualify for work from home positions. In some cases, you may need specialty experience. For example, for positions with duties related to orthopedics or neurology, many employers prefer candidates with prior experience in an orthopedic or a neurology wing at a hospital. Excellent computer and communication skills are imperative since you telecommute and work with clients and healthcare providers remotely via phone or internet.
