Job description

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Engineering Associate within the Chief Operating Office (COO) to support the Fraud AI Platform Data Engineering Team. COO Technology delivers technology solutions and manages application portfolios that support enterprise operations, resiliency, data services, and customer experience, driving modernization and optimization across the organization.

In this role, you will support the development and delivery of data pipelines used for both data storage and feature engineering. You will work alongside Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and Platform Engineers to build, test, and help deploy data pipelines into production environments. You will also contribute to data validation and verification processes while supporting ETL activities that ensure data is accurate, reliable, and ready for analytics and modeling.

This position is ideal for early-career professionals interested in data engineering, analytics, and large-scale data platforms. You will gain hands-on experience working with enterprise data systems, supporting data pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions that power advanced analytics and decision-making.

This position is part of the Career Opportunities in Development and Engineering (CODE) Program. The CODE program is a two-year engineering development experience designed for individuals who are early in their technical careers. The program is intended for candidates with approximately 6 months to 2 years of hands-on engineering experience.

As a full-time employee in the CODE Program, you'll begin with immersive onboarding and continue with hands-on training, mentorship, and professional development. You'll be part of a collaborative cohort supported by a dedicated program management team, gaining exposure to real-world projects with structured professional development, mentorship, and exposure to a broad range of technologies across the enterprise. Upon successful completion of the program, participants are eligible for promotion and continued employment, subject to business needs and performance expectations.

In this role, you will:

  • Support infrastructure and cloud engineering initiatives by working with teams to

  • Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines used for analytics, reporting, and feature engineering

  • Assist with building and testing data pipelines and preparing them for deployment into production environments

  • Support data transformation and integration activities, including basic ETL (extract, transform, load) processes

  • Contribute to building and validating model feature jobs used for advanced analytics and data science use cases

  • Assist in developing and maintaining data validation and data quality processes to ensure accuracy and reliability

  • Analyze data and system outputs to identify trends, issues, or opportunities for improvement

  • Support data modeling and data integration efforts, including maintaining data environments used for reporting and analytics

  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and other stakeholders to support data-related initiatives

  • Assist in troubleshooting data pipeline issues and support resolution efforts

Required Qualifications:

6+ months of Technology Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of hands-on experience working with data analysis and data engineering concepts, including building or supporting datasets, performing ETL processes, and working with structured data environments through internships, coursework, or realworld projects

  • Experience using SQL and data tools (6+ months) to query, transform, and analyze data, along with exposure to data visualization or reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Kibana to communicate insights

  • Practical experience (6+ months) using Python or a similar scripting language to support data processing, automation, or analytics workflows

  • Familiarity with data pipeline development and data warehouse concepts, including integrating data across systems, validating outputs, and supporting scalable data environments

  • Exposure to distributed data processing technologies, such as Spark, along with experience working in modern data environments or platforms

  • Exposure to cloud or platform technologies (e.g., OpenShift or major cloud providers) and streaming or messaging systems such as Kafka, demonstrated through labs, projects, or internship experience

  • Experience working in Agile or collaborative team environments, including partnering with cross-functional teams to support data initiatives, troubleshoot issues, and deliver solutions

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Word, managing email and calendars in Outlook, and building presentations in PowerPoint.

  • Experience communicating technical issues or access-related concerns across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in academic or professional settings.

  • Bachelor's in computer science or related field preferred but not required.

Job Expectations:

  • The selected candidate for this role must be able to begin employment by July 12, 2026, in a fulltime capacity.

  • This position is required to work from the designated posted office location and must be able to meet all expectations of the current hybrid work schedule, including regular inoffice attendance as defined by the team and program requirements.

  • Actively engage in the two-year CODE Program, including participation in training, mentorship, networking events, and career development activities.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$28.85 - $52.40
