Job Summary: We are seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Assistant with a strong work ethic and desire to have a long-term career with a successful optometric team. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient work-up, visual acuity, refracting, visual fields, OCT, tonometry, and contact lens insertion and removal.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Perform optometric pretesting including, but not limited to, visual acuity, auto-refraction, manual refraction, tonometry, topography, OCT, visual field, manual lensometry.
  • Record chief complaint, medications, and medical history.
  • Assist patients with contact lens insertion, removal, and care compliance training.
  • Assist and provide patients with excellent customer service and any necessary information regarding treatment

Education and Experience:
  • Experience within a professional environment with a strong customer service focus
  • High school or equivalent education
  • CPOA or COA certification preferred.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
  • This is a full-time position located in Fort Myers, FL
  • Shifts are scheduled Monday - Friday between 7:45 am - 5:15 pm
  • Travel to other locations as necessary
