Position Summary

Provide data architecture/engineering support to the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command – Armaments Center (DEVCOM-AC) Headquarters and its subordinate directorates located at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. Operating in support of the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Strategic Communications (G9), Innovation & Strategic Relationships Team, this role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise data infrastructure and AI/ML pipelines that enable data-driven decision-making and industry capabilities analysis.
***Must be US Citizen, prefer active Secret clearance. Hybrid role, 50% onsite work at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ  ***

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and design high-impact use cases that turn raw, unstructured data (web pages, PDFs, free-text fields, etc) into actionable insights—acting as the “solutions architect” for each product by defining what to extract, how it will be used downstream, and documenting the business value.
• Write & maintain Python 3 scripts that pull data from Excel/CSV/JSON/Markdown sources, SAM.gov API, and internal documents.
• Run locally hosted LLMs (Ollama or LM Studio) to generate deterministic summaries, classifications, and other natural-language enrichments.
• Prompt engineering: design, test, version, and document prompts that consistently produce the required output format (JSON, short summary, tags).
• Build and update Power BI dashboards; configure the on-premises data gateway for scheduled refreshes.
• Generate PDF/Word/HTML deliverables as needed using open source libraries.
• Data Documentation: Ability to write clear and comprehensive documentation for datasets, workflows, scripts, and dashboards to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
• Data Cleaning and Transformation: Develop robust pipelines to clean, preprocess, and transform raw data into usable formats for analysis and reporting.
• Data Modeling and Analytics: Create and maintain data models to support analytics and reporting needs, ensuring scalability and performance optimization.
 

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

• Experience writing Python 3 scripts to pull data from multiple sources
• Experience building Power BI dashboards
• Data architecture, data modeling, data engineering
• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or AI/ML engineering.
• DoD or national security environment experience
• Currently holds an an active Secret security clearance.
• Experience running locally hosted LLMs (Ollama or LM Studio) to generate deterministic summaries, classifications, and other natural-language enrichments.
