Senior Java Developer (Spring Boot & Microservices)
Location: Raleigh, Charlotte, NC / Atlanta, GA(Onsite)
Employment Type: 12+ Months Contract
Job Summary - We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices to join an enterprise technology team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong backend development background, experience designing and developing scalable microservices-based applications, and excellent communication skills. This role requires someone who can work independently, collaborate effectively with technical and business teams, and contribute hands-on to development and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications and microservices.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations.
- Build high-performance, reliable, and secure backend services using Spring Boot.
- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
- Write clean, maintainable, testable, and production-ready code.
- Perform code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot application issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, QA, DevOps, Product Owners, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and delivery.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and production releases.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Core Java / Java 8+
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot
- Strong hands-on experience developing Microservices
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and Design Patterns
- Experience with Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA and Hibernate
- Strong SQL and relational database experience
- Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle and CI/CD
- Experience with unit and integration testing, preferably JUnit/Mockito
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum development environments
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues
Preferred Skills
- Spring Cloud
- Kafka or other messaging technologies
- Docker and Kubernetes
- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- API Gateway / API management
- OAuth2 / JWT / Spring Security
