Official role is to maintain WAS as administrator but it also requires Java and Oracle/MS SQL based web development skills.
Samsung SDS America is currently seeking a full time Web Application Server Administrator, with a focus on WebLogic/Apache Tomcat. This position will work to refine the design, testing, implementation, installation, operation, troubleshooting and optimization, as well as to support and maintain the integrity and security of both the existing and any new WebLogic platforms, as needed.
Responsibilities:
Improve and implement process, procedures and automation or redundant tasks
Support multiple WebLogic Servers and J2EE applications
Perform and automate WAS administration
Key participant in the ongoing design, implementation, configuration, optimization, and support of large scale, complex J2EE Web Application Server solutions
Provide Java/J2EE deployment and production support
Perform scheduled maintenance and service requests
Work with developers and operational staff to provide solutions that fit within the constraints of the environment
Provide off-hours support as needed
Document and automate processes within the hosting environment
Qualifications:
Associate's Degree required
3 + years combined design, support, and administration experience in Weblogic 9.2, 10gR3, 11g, 12c.
3+ years' experience with web servers such as IIS, iPlanet and Apache HTTP Server
3 + years of Windows, Linux or Unix experiences.
Strong WebLogic/Tomcat Administration with expertise in Installation, Configuration, Tuning, troubleshooting and Deploying application
Use of WLST, Jython and ANT scripting tools to automate and monitor the WebLogic routine tasks
Experience with JDBC, JMS, WebServices, Security standards, LDAP, SSL
Experience with HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, Routing, Switching, Clustering, Load balancing, LAN, Oracle RAC
Proficient in scripting technologies (shell etc.)
Desired Skills
Solid understanding of J2EE concepts and implementations
WebLogic Server, Apache Tomcat and Red Hat JBoss experience
Experience with high-availability architecture
Experience working with highly complex systems administration
Evaluate and recommend changes to enhance platform reliability such as monitoring, tools, process and best practices.
Work as part of a team
Excellent Customer Service, Communication and Technical documentation skills
Leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
